About the Author
Loren Stone is a lesbian writer who lives and works in New England. She grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, a preacher's kid for the first 10 years of her life, and has lived in numerous locations throughout eastern Pennsylvania, including Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish country. After two years of college near the Canadian border, she moved to Europe for a few years, to study and travel. She has seen much of Western Europe by train, but never took the opportunity to visit the once-Eastern-Bloc countries. Upon returning the the US in the late 1980's, she lived up and down the East Coast, Northern California, and she now makes her home in New England. She divides her time on either side of the Atlantic, being partial to southwestern England. Bait is the first novel she's published, though it's far from the first she's written. While living in Philadelphia in the early 1990's, she freelanced as a writer and editor and wrote fiction and poetry. Her work has been published in little magazines. Bait is loosely based on experiences she's had, and which she's observed others having. It's not autobiographical, but if things had gone a little differently, it might have been. When she's not writing or working the 9-to-5, she can be found wandering the forests and driving the back roads of New England, exploring the landscape with her life partner of 14 years. They currently have three cats. Please e-mail to contact the author directly. And visit www.lorenstone.net for more in-depth info on Loren Stone. |
